Because insurance agencies work on commission, the financing options available to them differ from those available to traditional businesses. You don’t have any future sales or invoices to borrow against, and you may not have much valuable collateral to back a large business loan the traditional way. As the owner of an insurance agency, you can usually qualify for general business financing options such as term loans and lines of credit. Some lenders, however, may view you as high-risk. You can also apply for insurance agency financing, which customizes the underwriting process to the industry.
